Eucharist Ministry

 

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion who serve the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass and to the sick and homebound.

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion to the Homebound, Hope Hospice, Hospitals & Nursing Homes Jesus asks His followers to share His ministry of compassion and healing: “I was sick and you visited me.”… Mathew 25:36. If you or a loved one is unable to attend Mass and would like to receive Communion, please call the parish office to arrange a visit. If you would like to learn more about serving in this very important ministry, please contact the coordinators for more information.

Eucharist Adoration

The Chapel is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed and adored by volunteers who sign up for one hour or more to pray.

Sacristan

The responsibility of the sacristans is to ensure that parishioners have available to them a clean, comfortable and peaceful atmosphere in which to worship. The sacristan is cognizant of the needs of both the priest and ministers and has materials readily available to assist in their ministry and provide a fulfilling worship experience for the parish community. Senior Altar Server

Men and women who assist at Mass or Funeral masses to enhance the worship of our faith community. Please contact the Parish Office at 992-0901 for more information.

Youth Altar Server

To be an altar server is a special honor and a great privilege in the Catholic Church. One can look upon being an altar server as a special and unique ministry by which a young person can help to spread the word and the love of Christ through their actions and words.
It is not difficult to be an Altar Server, but there are some things that you must know and remember. To be an Altar Server you must have made your First Holy Communion and you must attend training. Please contact the Parish Office at 992-0901 for more information.

Usher

The role of usher includes the seating of parishioners and visitors, directing them at Communion time, helping the handicapped feel more comfortable and facilitating the offertory collections. For more information please contact Br. Tim Smyth at 630-300-46970.

Greeters

The role of greeter includes the welcoming of parishioners and visitors and ensuring of their comfort at St. Leo Parish. The greeters are available to answer questions about the church and direct parishioners and guests as needed. Please contact John Bonney at 239-221-8170 for more information.

Lector

Serving as a reader is a unique opportunity to deepen one’s own faith through prayer and preparation and to communicate that faith by making the Word of God comes alive for the assembly. A reader is expected to: be a registered parishioner who is in full Communion with the Catholic Church, be a responsible adult or young adult, be committed to the Ministry of the Word, have good reading skills, believe and understand what they read, have a spirit of humility and service, practice what they read, be punctual when scheduled and improve through training and workshops. Liturgical Linen Service

Responsible for the preparation and care of the altar linens. This includes the washing and ironing of purificators, corporals, and altar linens. Please contact the parish office at 992-0901 for more information. If you want to help in this ministry.

Arimatheans

This ministry is named after Joseph of Arimathea, who along with Nicodemus claimed and prepared Jesus' body for burial. The Arimatheans help support those who are suffering the loss of a loved one. For more information please contact Parish Office at 992-0901.

Candle Ministry

This ministry assists the parish community by replenishing the candles in our votive rooms. Our votive rooms bring healing, peace and love to those living and deceased. For more information please contact Kathy Brown at 239-992-1522. 

Bible Study

Please join us in the parish library located in the Activities Building for fellowship in God’s word every Thursday at 9:00am. For more information call Ann Hall at 220-1322.

Pro-Life Rosary

Unite as a community praying the Rosary for the sanctity of all life from conception until natural death. Meditative hymns are sung, along with the recitation of the Rosary. No experience required. Mentors provided. Contact the coordinator, John & Shirley Ruehl at 949-7015.

Sacrament of Baptism

Preparing parents for the formation of their child’s faith. Baptisms are offered every second Saturday of each month in Spanish and every second Sunday of the month in English. Please contact Fr. Eduardo Coll at 992-0901 for details and requirements.
